For the first time, M.TEC GmbH complements the booth as well as the general portfolio of the Feddersen Group at the largest plastics fair worldwide and introduces the new engineering services – such as the digital twin in warpage optimization – within the group.

As an engineering service provider, M.TEC represents the holistic development of plastics products and components, from idea to series maturity. The engineers’ interdisciplinary approach, safeguarding the systematic and methodic product development by in-house simulation and calculation, ensures customer benefit. With more than 25 years of experience in plastics products and components development, M.TEC works together with international companies in automotive, medical, domestic care, building technology and electronic devices sectors. By acquiring the engineering office, the Feddersen Group intends to systematically expand its range of services and offer holistic and economical engineering solutions based on knowledge-based services.

Visitors of the K 2019 can find out more about the product development process by M.TEC and unique, future-oriented in-house approaches at the shared booth of the Feddersen Group. Consequently, M.TEC presents the digital twin in warpage optimization which models cause variables from component geometry and injection molding process in a mathematical, virtual image of physical relations. This innovative method enables holistic optimizations and establishes new ways to lowering time and cost expenses as well as minimizing the percentage of bad parts in injection molding (picture 1: "Warpage optimization of a bumper using the digital twin" which credits M.TEC).

Furthermore, M.TEC walks visitors at the K 2019 step by step through the complex development process, making use of descriptive real-life examples and explaining the crucial questions every engineer has to bear in mind in order to successfully develop a new product or component until series maturity. In doing so, innovation and experience go hand in hand: Therefore, novel approaches in e-mobility such as battery cases, bus bars and plug connectors are promoted by M.TEC engineers.
