In the process of achieving the "carbon peak and neutrality" goals, the plastics industry has made huge efforts to accelerate the circular economy track by promoting biomaterials, advancing transformation of enterprises and introducing new technologies.

BIO-FED — unique and perfect set up for a bio compound supplier

A new biobased solution has been added  to K.D. Feddersen's portfolio, which has already included a number of recyclable and biobased materials.

BIO-FED was founded in October 2014 as the successor to Metabolix, a startup of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)  and also a subsidiary of Feddersen Group.

Headquartered in BioCampus Cologne, one of Germany's largest biotech parks, BIO-FED focuses on the production and marketing of biobased and biodegradable polymers.

Multiple Certifications! That's so Cool!

Any product may have its end-of-life.

Bioplastics may be biodegraded in different environments (soil, water, etc.) to industrial compost, home compost, etc.

According to the standards of important certification bodies such as TÜV AUSTRIA (Belgium) and DIN CERTCO (Germany).

Many of BIO-FED's products are certified 'OK Compost INDUSTRIAL', 'OK Compost HOME', or 'OK biodegradable SOIL'.

Sustainable M·VERA® products for our environment

The M-VERA® portfolio, which contains biodegradable and/or biobased compounds, has expanded its portfolio with ISCC PLUS and REDcert2 sustainable certified compounds made from biomass-balanced polypropylene (PP).

ISCC PLUS & REDcert2

ISCC PLUS and REDcert2  both follow the mass balance principle similar to that of green electricity, ensuring traceability of sustainable material flows throughout the value chain and increasing the share of recyclable mass balanced/biomass-balanced products.
